The National Park Plitvice is one the most beautiful European parks, protected by UNESCO since 1979, as a World Natural Heritage. The National Park covers the surface of 29685 ha, where lakes take up to 200 ha, while forest covers the rest of the park.
In NP Plitvice 16 lakes created by the nature are connected by the beautiful travertine waterfalls. One of the greatest scenes of the park is the 78 meters high waterfall called Veliki Slap (The Great Waterfall) which is the highest waterfall in Croatia.
Other than the guided walks through the amazing wooden paths throughout the entire park, you can enjoy in the boat ride across the biggest lake called Kozjak.
On our way back to Split we recommend a panoramic drive through the region of Lika where you can enjoy the beautiful beautiful forest and mountains of Croatia.
Also we will stop to taste the traditional Croatian cuisine in the restaurant Macola. We will then continue our journey back to Split.
